A nightmare:We used Hostmonster for over a year, and while the customer service was excellent, it began deteriorating quickly unhelpful, uninterested, passive or aggressive kids giving you attitude. It is not in all cases, but in far too many. As we began to dread calling for support because it was a crap shoot whether you'd get someone helpful. Then in September 2010 we had our site tampered with twice within one week. The first time, an incompetent tech rep misunderstood the problem and he told us it was our fault or problem and we had to find the code that was causing the problem ourselves. Baffled, we called them again and a supervisor was wildly apologetic. He restored the site from a backup but was unable to explain what had occurred. 6 days later we went through the same thing all over again, only without the apologies. This time we could get no one to manifest any interest or concern over the incident, let alone explain what had happened. That was the last straw.

I probably would not have written, but I saw the other review saying how horrible it was. And that's not true. I have been a repeat customer of this service. I'm a novice so I can not really say how this site would work for a hard core professional E-commerce site, But if that's what you are looking for you probably wouldn't be shopping here. All I can say is it has worked well for me. You get unlimited space and domains. Support was appropriately fast and accurate.

What a nightmare - You definitely get what you pay for, and it is not worth it. Even after contacting a customer service rep on the phone, he was ignorant and basically told me to go somewhere else. I could not access the site and called and was told that I changed my password, when I hadn't. It was a billing rep that told me my account had been ( hacked ), but because the password was changed, and someone added a firewall, I could not access the account. These ( brilliant ) - (obviously, I am being sarcastic) reps kept telling me they would (send me a link)…..hello, if I can't access your site, and if I did not change the password, then, –a- I can't use your link for anything and –b- don't know the password to access account, even if I could get to your site- Ironically, AFTER we left them and went back with our old hosting company, we could access! We left and are so glad we did. We got bombarded with x-rated emails, and no one wanted to help us! SO GLAD WE LEFT….

No security always hacked dont go here:
The site i have is always hacked and told to update my password. I am running out of password, almost every month. have to delete everything including my data base, nothing to salvage they have no help in cleaning. now moving to I page.

You get what you pay for :
Always read fine print. There is no such thing as : unlimited storage and bandwidth. If you use too much, they will cancel your account on the grounds that , they can make you a cancelation for any reason at any time- even though it contradicts their advertising. That aside, the deal is pretty good. That is, until they have a disk failure and suddenly all your sites are down. You call support and they offer to restore one of the backups they have for you, obviously you say go ahead. Then they call back and say whoops it turns out we did not have a backup for you after all. Now you are stuck uploading your own backup over a household DSL line which will take forever... Local collocation space and servers are cheap these days. Time to move on from Hostmonster. I am done with hosts like this. Beware.
